They (dealer) told me it was part of the breakdown of contacts in the ignition switch. New switch... still lights up, so I eventually was told that it was a faulty sensor (mine was left front). It was rusted in solid and I'll never really know how or what was wrong because it came out in pieces. Strangly enough I just ordered the new one today after having ABS light glaring at me for several months (removing/disconecting a sensor will result in a constant light and regular brakes (no antilock ability)). Any way the silly little bugger is about $150 and from tearing the old one out I can tell you that they are just a couple of copper wire coils around a ferrous core encased in black goop to keep us out. Obvious how they work but why so special/expensive? You would think that the industry would band togehter and make A STANDARD sensor. Just my .02... CW
