In the 85-86 models ther are several wires that go no where. These wires were added early on for other functions that had not been totally resolved in the early models. Some times these are referred to as engineering wires or test wires. Some of the cars had a Saab 900 ac system (With a separate compressor switch-the wire was blue) and some had AAC systems there was wiring for both. My 85 9000 was a mess of extra wires that went no where and were not on the wiring diagrams. I found later some were for UK headlight dipping and elevation control(not applicable to USA) If everything is working forget it. You may short it out and see which fuse blows and trace back that way- dangerous procedure and you could wipe out some relays along the way but last resorts some time are used in desperation. and again it may not have any power to it. It could be the "snowflake" switch wire.
