But you cant pressurize the system manually like that, can you? The turbo is self wont hold pressure. And I am not sure that the trottle plate will hold pressure either. I have no experience from locating leaks but I guess that the only way to do this is to visually examine part by part, or to pressurize parts of the system manually.......
Yep the "thing" on the alu tube is the airtemp sensor. DI/APC cars have a sensor in the same location. I dont see how or why this should be integrated with the bypass......:)
As you say Z, lets doit the easy way. Install the bypass and see what happens. If that doesnt help, remove all thin hoses (the one to the bypass - all of it, the three ones to the bpc) and check those (easy to pressurize manually. Then tighten all clamps and try to locate any cracks in the remaining three (?) hooses (turbo=>IC, IC=>alu tube, alutube=>inletmanifold). And if that doesnt help.......?
