John, I doubt if you'll find any place in MA that will sell performance
parts for Saab. It's just not that big a market. However, all is not
lost - there's plenty of places you can order from the web. First,
wheels are difficult: because of the Saab's 9000 bolt pattern
(4 X 108 mm) and offset (will vary depending on width you chose).
However, Tire Rack will offer some Ronals, and then there's the
BBS's and HRE's that can be found in various places. I think the
best exhaust components are found in Sweden. Look around on
the Performance BB and you'll see a bunch listed on various
threads. They can be found in the US, Canada, or Britain, also,
but you'll end up paying 3 or 4 times what you will pay if you order
from Sweden - this has been my experience. Tuning is the same
story. I don't want to upset people on this board, but I've also
found that the best tuning/ECU development is probably being
done in Sweden, not the US, not Britain. I'm not Swedish, but
that's just the way things seemed to have developed, up to this
point. There are plenty of competent auto body shops in MA -
and because Saabs, like Volvos, have fenders that bolt on, it
usually turns out to be more cost effective to buy new Saab
fenders, than try to repair, prep' and finish a damaged one.
My best advice is to read as many threads in the Performance BB,
relative to tuning, as you can, then research prices and make
your decision......it's worth it!
