I always use a little high-temp anti-seize on the threads, and it's good practice to start the plugs by hand. I read that a good trick is to find a piece of heater hose that fits snugly over the body of the plug, and use it to hold the plug when you start threading it in. It will slip if the plug is going in crooked and will prevent stripped threads.
