My lovely girl has gone astray. I commute to work (downstate NY) at 85 mph for approx 30 min. When I hit traffic and slowed to near zero at the end of my commute, an antifreeze vapor came out from under the hood, then the vapor disappeared and everything appeared normal....the temperature was fine. Upon experiencing this for the second day in a row I put her in the shop. My mechanic says its the headgasket, but it is not that the car is taking the antifreeze in internally, but that it is leaking out of the engine. Has anyone experienced this? he says I need a head gasket at the price of 600 to 800 US dollars (saab master tech). I trust him and he will start the job tommorrow. Anyone have an opinion on the matter? I drove a Ford Explorer to work today and it was horrible, I want my car.
