Probably not the computer Posted by Ari [Email] (#2847) [Profile/Gallery] (more from Ari) on Tue, 28 Nov 2000 16:50:56 In Reply to: 98 CSE Computer(s), Danman, Tue, 28 Nov 2000 11:38:50 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
From reading your posts, it looks like there is a simple (but hard to find) electrical problem. All the dash lights going out wouldn't be the engine control computer - more likely a pretty massive power failure. In my experience, it's a simple open circuit 100 times more often than a computer.
Have the shop check the various power busses - different busses are energized depending on the ignition key position. In fact, have them check the ignition switch. It could be as simple as the ON position is bad - that would explain no dash lights and no engine run. The START position could still be fine.
Good luck!
