You are one who's best to diagnose it. Has anything been done recently to the car to have caused the battery to drain?

I can relate a similar experience I have with my '89 900S, even though this forum is for the 9K. Right after I put in the new headliner, I noticed the battery got weaker, to the point that it almost doesn't crank up enough revolutions to start the motor.

This was something never experirnced before I replaced the headliner. The battery was only one-year-old. And I didn't have a clue what caused that. But I knew there was a short somewhere.

What gave it away was when I closed the manual sunroof after dark, I saw a spark as the sunroof made contact with the car body. Turned out one of the screws for the hand straps contactd the positive wire for the interor lamp, draining the battery as a result. The fix was of course easy. Finding it was not trivial at all.
