wire routing for A/F gauge and recommendations?

I'm going to break down and buy an A/F ratio gauge for my 88 9Kt. Probably gonna go with the EFI systems' combo A/F and injector pulse width gauge($100). But my local parts store will sell me the Auto Meter A/F unit for $57- quite tempting, but it doesn't have any graduations or markings as to what actual ratio is(ie 12:1,17:1, etc)Any comments on either of these would be appreciated. I'm wondering what is the best routing for the wiring from the O2 sensor back to the gauge in the cabin. Thanks.
