Clutch Master Cylinder

Yesterday the CMS finally gave up the ghost. Had to drive home approx. 27 miles with essentially no clutch. Fortunately, it was mostly interstate and I was able to shift by matching engine speed to the tranny and made MOST of my shifts with very little crunching. Some of them with no crunching at all! Anyway, I was wondering if there was anything special I can do when replacing the CMS that would allow me to bleed the clutch with gravity instead of a pressure bleed. About a month ago the hose from the CMS to the slave popped off and I was unable to pressure bleed the clutch using the inner-tube method. Probably because the CMS was on the verge of failure and the inner plunger was in the incorrect position. As a word of warning, if you suspect your CMS is going bad (and mine displayed all the classic symtoms), go ahead and get it done before you have to drive it clutchless as I did. I hope I didn't do any irreparable damage. Keeping my fingers crossed.
