This might be a rear main seal leak. If you lay it to it in high gear going up a hill and the RPM increases dramatically but the speed doesn't, that's a slipping clutch. Oil on the disc will cause chatter. If you slip the clutch when starting out and it jerks and bangs a lot, that's an indication of oil on the clutch.
