Now that the car is running great, I would like to get some performance parts. I am looking at APC mods and fuel pressure regulator, since from what I've read, these two go hand in hand and are the easiest mods to perform. Please correct me if that's wrong, cause I'm new to performance mods.

First, the APC. Does anyone know about the mods listed at the site below?

http://www.geocities.com/tv41mxa/tweakyourapc.html

This looks like the cheapest way to get a performance increase without sending $350 to SPG9 or SPP, but is it safe for the engine and will I see a similar increase as the reprogrammed APCs from performance places? They say that the mod is to make a stock APC match the Saab Red Box APC used on the race cars, but I want my engine to run to 200,000 miles+ if possible, and don't want a race car, just more horsepower when I need it for passing and such. Can I have my cake and eat it too?? Help! :-\

Assuming an APC mod won't hurt my car, would I be better off just spending the money and get the Stage II from SPG9? (or somewhere else if someone knows where to get one cheaper)

========

Second, the fuel pressure regulator. What's the best source for one of these, cost-wise, and what size should I get? I was thinking the 3.0bar would be plenty, even with a StageII APC, but will it affect my gas mileage? For that matter, will the APC upgrade affect my mileage? I realize that if I -use- the extra power I have at my disposal, then yes, my mileage will drop, but if I drive the same way as usual, will I still be able to get 32mpg on the highway like usual?

That's a big reason I got the car was for speed and gas mileage, so if I will lose mileage, I may not do these mods at all. Any advice would be great. Thanks!
