The notch on each cam should line up with same on the first hold-down for the cam. That sets #1 piston TDC for the head.
After you remove the head, you'll see the pistons and you know where TDC is for the #1 piston, or any other pistons for that matter. Also, at TDC for #1 piston, the Woodruff key on the crank pulley is at 12 o'clock. A third confirmation is the big counterweight (you may or may not see it. It is in the oil pan.) for #1 piston is at 6 o'clock.
I am not sure if your car has a balance chain. If it does, I have to look at the manual for determining #1 piston TDC.
