It can be done with some modification and cutting of the front door panel storage pocket. I've done it on several 9K's with good results. There really isn't a better way to get a meaty soundstage up front in these cars. I've looked at kickpanel/footwell buildouts using fiberglass and resin but that compromises space too much. The other hitch to doing door-mount speakers is getting wires through the watertight connector inside the door jamb. You can run wires through the connecter or do your own grommet and tube from the body to the door frame.... either way, water tightness must be maintained or you run the risk of corrosion and electrical problems.
