I've had no problems whatsoever with clearance (86 9kt). Single jackstand was under driver's side support (one steel rim with 6x6 plus 4x4 wood on top). Left subframe completely removed. Transmission lowered onto plywood which itself lay on plastic real-estate sign. The whole assembly was easily pulled to the nearest workbench. I suppose one could hoist it through the top also, but it looks like the upper rad hose and the distributor might have to be removed. And, possibly, some of the lower dismantlings might not be necessary. Then again, your car might be quite different!
