It is not really an Aero...but perhaps an " Aero junior " as I like to think of them. Your car is the last of the early bodystyle..with the 93 model year came the newer bodystyle..and several changes. All I can think of is that Saab knew they would be coming out with the Aero in 93 and didnt want to create even more confusion by badging the turbo anything else but " Turbo" . Your car has "new" for 1991 2.3 liter engine...200 hp and 200 something lbs of torque. Slightly lowered suspension and stiffer springs and anti roll bars...the fabulous 16" wheels..and all the electro comfort goodies. It is a special model...made only in 91 and 92...and in my opinion should have been badged differently. The 93 Aero has the newer bodystyle, improved suspension, even more Hp and torque..a taller gear ratio transmission, and incredible super contoured and luxurious seats...however with added weight. Your car is generally thought of as quicker off the line and more spartan with a harsher ride...the 93-97 Aeros are more supple and luxo while still retaining thier great handling characteristics and road feel but better at accelerating in the mid range 30- + mph. Higher profile tires also contribute to the quieter softer ride.
