Question for Robert Davis

I just got my VDO oil pressure sender (dual switch) but noticed that the diameter is bigger than the stock unit that fits right against the oil dip stick tube. It does look like the new unit will contort the tube, which worries me that it may pull out of it's seal. Am I paranoid or should I consider a riser of some sort to mount the VDO sender onto to rise it away from the tube? Any thoughts?
