My mechanic installed the JT downpipe yesterday with a 3" high-flow cat from Pro Muffler. I also added a polished tip from the Saab Catalog as my old one was looking pretty ugly.

In terms of differences in performance, the car is slightly louder and sounds great when under boost. Definitely a little bit throatier but not much different than stock. I haven't necessarily noticed much of a change in power but the turbo lag has decreased markedly, especially in higher gears @ low rpms. This upgrade was definitely worth the money!!

A few questions:

1. Does anyone sell a 3" cat-back system either in SS or aluminized steel? Am I better off having a muffler shop bend some pipe? If so, what muffler whould I use?

2. If I stick with the stock cat-back exhaust and cut-out the center resonator, how much louder will this be? The exhaust is still a little too quiet for my taste.

3. Where can I buy a 3" test pipe (for off-road use only, of course)?

On a final note, I would like to especially thank Karl in Sweden for procuring the downpipe and a set of "euro" front turn signals and shipping them to me. He was great to deal with!! Also, if you are in Fairfield County, CT or Westchester County, NY, I HIGHLY recommend European Auto Center Repair in Darien, CT. Keal Evans is a Saab master mechanic and has been working on our cars for 18 years. He is great to deal with, extremely knowledgable, relatively inexpensive and his attention to detail is impressive!

That's it for now - I've used up enough bandwith...
