I'm posting again! My '92 9000S has an A/C compressor that shuts off when fan is in position 4! It works fine 1-3 but put it to 4 and it shuts the compressor off! No ideas out there? You guys know every problem in these Swedish Beauties! A couple of years ago, I lost the A/C in this car and I took it to a service station because I couldn't get in my normal place and the best Saab mechanic in Milwaukee was on vacation! They found some electrical part was bad located in the front near the A/C coil. While the part was on order, the mechanic "jumped" the female conector that connected to the ordered part with a paper clip! Guess what? The A/C Comp worked on #4 with the paper clip in the connector. When the new part came they installed into the connector and #4 shut off the compressor again. This mechanic was smart enough to know that the schematics show the #4 position wired separately from the 1-3 positions which explains why 4 is different. However, this was as far as he cared to take it. He said he didn't know enough to go forward. Tom, the best Saab mechanic in MKE, doesn't have an idea either without spending a lot of precious time on it. Somebody has gotta know!!! Please!!
Thanks,
Steve
