Driving my 94 9000CSE on the wayhome, the battery light came on and the temp guage went up near the red zone so I immediately stopped and found out that the serpentine belt slipped and the tensioner let go all the way. However, since I was just 5 mins from home on the highway I just took a chance and drove home while the temp gauge entering just the beginning of the red zone. I drove like that about 5 mins until I got home. I know it was a stupid thing to do and I shouldn't have done that but it was dark and I didn't have a cell phone with me. I've put the belt back on and the car seems running normal. Now I'm worried about the potential engine damage and blown head gasket from what I did. Is there anyway to check? Any comments? Thanks.
