is an intresting subject from Quantom Physice dealing with the flow of sub atomic electrons and the existing of potiential fields in vacuums and atmospheres. I really don't think this is critical here but just a good practice. We don't know where the solid state circuits are that may be harmed by a momentary reversal of electron flow when we disconnect the positive lead first - everything will dump to earth. For grins just think of negative as an earth connection and everything else as a positive potiential. Drs. Gamov and Barton at the University of Colorado, 1958 along with my wife during the development of the NBS atomic clock, proved that the clock would operate for a length of time with only an earth ground but would not operate with only a positive potiential. for what all that is worth but I don't think we are dealing with half life of a nuclear element here!
