Replacing the Fly Wheel...help??

Hi,
I'm so screwed. I just had the transmission R&R'd back in december. My starter has been making some wierd noise so I took it back to them and now they tell me the teeth on my fly wheel are all chewed up. Wonderful. I paid $1685 to have the tranny overhauled, and now they want $1300 to do the flywheel/starter. I'm pretty competent at DIY stuff, I was wondering, how hard is it really to drop out the tranny?? I have access to a lift and garage with a lot of tools, but I doubt anything specific for Saabs. I've heard it's hard from some, but not so bad from others. I have a '93 9k Turbo CS. I'm willing to get whatever books I may need to do this, and put in whatever time it takes. I really don't want to pay these people this much again, especially after they threw me out of the garage for asking too many questions (I paid $70 to have them diagnose the problem) Anyways I'm just fishing for input, and if it is possible, where's the best place to get references on how to do it all...
Sorry for the long post, Thanks in advance..
