Idler / tension pulley question

My idler pulley or my tension pulley (or both) is sqeeking a little bit. I've had the belt tension damper replaced recently - I don't know why they didn't replace the above pulleys as well. Can I drive with this squeeking going on or am I risking getting stuck on the side of the road?
Thanks,
Jerry
