Just for anyone who is looking for a replacement heater valve, I got this one from O'Rielly's just looking through what they had and it is a Murray No.74628. It is a ball valve w/ about the same through as the old valve. Had to drill out the rivets on the old bracket, cut it just about where the second vertical leg from the mount portion of the plate sets back, beat it out flat across the mounting surface, took the top plate off the valve for the drill pattern on the plate, mounted the valve, and pop-riveted it back into place. It is set up so the water from the head goes through the valve to the core, but I guess you could do it either way. Doing a few other things to the car so haven't tested it yet, but will let you know.
