Kurt,
Very cool that the 99 Turbo is leading that poll! So here's the follow-on question: "Would you pay $35,000 for a new 99 Turbo?" (keeping in mind no AC, manual windows, manual locks, no ABS, etc.,etc.) I recall a company in New Jersey ("Automotive Import Recycling")in the 1980s that was "remanufacturing" BMW 2002 and Volvo 144 cars - they came with a 12 mo/12,000 mile warranty and had new paint, mechanical rebuilds, new upholstery, seals, tires, shocks, bearings, bushings, exhaust, etc., etc. If you gathered up 20 99 Turbos and set up shop, could you do all that and cover your costs for $700,000? Of course, at that time parts for those cars were much more readily available than they are today for the 99 Turbo, so you'd be in for contracting some stuff (like upholstery) to be reproduced. Interesting thought.
Best,
Gary
