Hi Gerry,
I think the hose you want is the water pump inlet hose. The large diameter part runs from the coolant expansion tank to the pump inlet. The small diameter part that tees in from the side is the return from the heater core. There is an early part number 83 16 73? (sorry, the scan of the microfiche is blurry - I think the ? is a 6 or 8) and a later part for 1975-1980 is part number 83 16 628. The breakpoint looks like the change was at the beginning of 1975, so if you have the original engine you probably want the earlier one.
The "y" hose Bob mentions I think is the heater supply hose - it's all small diameter and the 3 branches go to the intake manifold nipple between #2 and #3, the water pump small nipple, and the heater valve. There are 2 part numbers there too, but that breakpoint is in 1979. I think you need 83 14 536 for 1974.
