This is a good point. I did a bunch of other checks first.
I replaced the fuel filter as the very first step.
I checked all the vacuum lines and found a vacuum leak at the Vacuum Impulse Contact. Fixing that helped quite a bit, but the car was still barely running.
Before tearing into the WUR, I checked the cold start valve for spray and leakedown. I checked the Vacuum Impulse Contact and Cold Start Valve by putting a light in series with the valve; that was kinda cool watching the light flash when you blip the throttle (which I was doing a lot to keep the car running). I checked the injectors for spray and leakdown. I pulled a spark plug and checked condition and gap, both checked out. I checked timing, cap rotor, and wires.
