Hi again LJB, reviewing the thread I had missed Geoph's remark that the shaft is either 14mm or 9/16". 9/16" = 0.5625" which is enough bigger than your measurement that I expect yours is metric. CR seal catalog lists seals for 14mm shaft with bore sizes (ie seal OD) 24,25,26,27,28,30,32,35 mm. Thicknesses mostly 7mm but a few 5 and 6, as I said any would probably work. They also list #s 400-140, -141, -144, -145 as "Shaft range 13.46mm - 15.49mm," as though they will acommodate any shaft in that range. If one of those is the correct bore size, it might be fine, but I am not familiar with that kind of seal design.
Armed with fair confidence that the shaft is 14mm (measure again with the seal out) and consequent expectation that the bore is also metric, chances are very good that one of those CR seals is what you need and if it were my problem, at this point I would not feel too hesitant to remove the old seal, measure thickness and bore, and take it to the bearing store (not the auto parts, their selection and knowledge will be very limited) for a matchup. CR is but one mfr, and while most of the big mfrs overlap on the common seals, any one has gaps that are covered by others--ie it is very likely that somebody makes a 29mm OD seal, the only size missing from the CR list. Good luck & keep us informed.
