Idler shaft finally fixed

Hi all,
Just wanted to let everyone know that my destroyed idler shaft is fixed and the car is back on the road. It took me a lot longer to get around to doing the fix than i expected. It did take a solid weekend of tinkering to pull the engine out, fix the shaft, then put it back in. I ended up going back in with the same 12 cog setup and my first impressions of the fix are good. I have only seen a small weep out of the water pump for just a few minutes the first time i ran it. That is a huge step forward from my large stream I had prior. The repairs all went pretty smoothly. No big surprises. I do have to see if my homemade gasket around the tranti and head worked. I used a lot of blue rtv and just hope it holds up in the long term. If anyone would like to see the pics of the old shaft with no teeth email me and i will oblige. I have all the pieces i pulled out of the engine in a ziploc so i can shoot a pic of that as well. Want to thank everybody that gave advice to me when this first happened. Now i get to move on to hunting a vacuum leak that is quite elusive.
