AC condensor... Posted by JohnT [Email] (#1654) [Profile/Gallery] (more from JohnT) on Mon, 11 Apr 2005 16:49:38 In Reply to: Would your AC condensor..., mcnash, Fri, 8 Apr 2005 14:55:42 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
I have been wrestling with this problem myself. I left the AC in my 99GLi after putting in a B turbo motor, and converted it to R134. It worked fine (but not great) until the condenser got a leak. Dimensions of the existing condenser are 12" x 20" x 1/2". I have been looking for a replacement but haven't found one that thin. I think you can squeeze a 3/4" condenser in if you get creative. Using thinner cooling fans than those in the 99T (US) would help a lot. Those look to be about 2-3/4" thick.
Here is a 12 x 22-1/2" condenser that looks like it would work if you could come up with thinner pusher fans:

I called them and was told their condensers are around 1-1/2" thick.
