Bob, My experience is with the factory Saab sport exhaust on a D-jet. The first thing I realized is that you have to protect your wiring. Those headers will make good wiring very hard and brittle very fast. I used header wrap for that(on the wiring harness). You can also pick up thermal wiring sleeves, it costs a lot more. The noise factor gets old real quick. Jute carpet liner helps out, as well as some sort of foam behind the rear panels. I used two glass packs that were way too loud. I ended up with a rear turbo after market muffler to compensate. After all that, it wasn't worth the noise for the slight gain. I ended up using an Ansa exhaust(better), but it rotted out in a few years. I've now got a Marmite super sprint exhaust that is by far the best in sound and performance with the stock manifold. That super sprint exhaust isn't easy to find, but it occured to me that it is similiar to a later 900 turbo exhaust in size and design. That may be a good way to go. That way, once you figure out the hangers, you've got replacements available with exception to the one custom adaptor pipe. If this marmite one rots out quickly, that's the route I'm going to try.
