Hello Fred,

I plan to upgrade my 1.85L Triumph with a 2.0 "Type B" engine soon.

1. Yes, You can use the same carb and airpiping;
2. The gearbox MUST fit; I plan to install a '79 engine and a '76 gearbox :)
3. Engine supports, cabling etc. have to stay the same, as far as know
4. the outtake manifold is different, but the other parts of exhaust a probably the same

There may (or may not :) be some problems with the alternator (if it is located on top; note that on a 1.7 and 1.85 engines it is located under the outtake manifold, but on later 2.0 engines it is over the intake and may interfer with master brake cylinder?!)

The other problem could arise when connecting the clutch cylinder to the hydraulic line. On a post-75 gearbox and clutch, the connector is different from that found on pre-75.

My English is bad, so I'll try to make some pictures on the next weekend, measure some sizes and maybe this will help You (and me too :)

Everything else seems to be a bolt-off/bolt-on operation.
