Does yours have an EGR valve? Posted by DougM [Email] (#211) [Profile/Gallery] (more from DougM) on Mon, 1 Dec 2003 22:25:25 In Reply to: how to remove clutch cover, scott k., Mon, 1 Dec 2003 21:23:07 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
because looking in the book it would appear that the EGR crosspipe would need to be removed. The only thing else that holds the coover on is three bolts. One dead center by the distributor, and one bolt on each side. You may have to get rough with it and wrestle it around the slave feeder line, and wrestle it from the bit that tucks behind the flywheel on the driver side, but that's all there is to it. The plastic is pretty durable and will bend and not break.
If you have to replace the clutch, then the radiator will have to be drained and removed.
If the clutch disc is seized like Kevin surmises, then unbolt the pressure plate(six bolts) and pry it off the three pins in the flywheel. Then try to stick a screwdriver behind the pressure plate to free up the disc. If all else fails, the clutch may have to be replaced.
