TR& has single row chain, please end this story thread. The MGB tensioner is cheap and availiable. Buy one 20-30 dollars and compare in person. As far as adjustment of the chain, ( not in service manual-dunno why) An offset 13mm box end wrench and big screwdriver after removing the valve cover is all that is involved for to sucessfully "insitu" timing Chain adjustment for the SAAB B motor, plus the knowledge that the upper bolt when loosened provides then the "slotted" ADJUSTABLE curved upper guide guide, to be moved toward the center of the motor, taking up slack chain. This upper "upper" guide bolt is not seen, BUT is there by braille. Just follow the cam chain sproket "fixing Arm" down and in, you will feel this bolt. Loosen the upper epper bolt a bit then prise the upper slipper down. Scribe a mark first and only moove slipper a bit. Fit a spare 8mm bolt to the upper chainwheel as this "Fixing Arm" wil move a bit when the upper chain adjuster is mooved.
