SIMULATING FULL THROTTLE TO CLEAN FUEL LINES

I am trying to clean out my gummy fuel lines on a 99 that has been sitting for many years (about 18). I know that there is a way to use the fuel pump to push good fuel through the lines and going all the way to the injectors, but how do I do that? Do I just connect 12 volts to the pump by using some wire that will reach from the battery or some other source, or is there an easier way to get the pump running as fast as possible? Has anyone does this before?
