air compressor question

Hi all:
I bought a used 25 gal air compressor that seems to work fine, but has some damage on it.
Somehow, the plastic fan made contact with the capacitor, breaking the capacitor off its mount and grinding down the little blades on the fan itself.
The fan still spins true on the motor shaft, but should I worry about it overheating? Should I replace the fan? I'm not really sure how big it's supposed to be.
All I want to do right now is take care of some rust with a low-volume
(3 CFM) right-angle die grinder.
I have pics as well of the compressor...if I can fugure out how to post them!
Thanks for your help.
