I am getting really close. Posted by BAAB [Email] (#1214) [Profile/Gallery] (more from BAAB) on Sun, 30 Nov 2008 12:55:24 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
My '79 99 gl that sat since 1988 used to only barely sputter, and never ran smooth at all, but after adding more new fuel and a bottle of injector cleaner, the car is now starting usually the first time (as long as I keep the pedal down a couple inches). It still runs pretty rough initially, but will at least stay running now and it also cycles through a very, very smooth few seconds before it goes back to rough again. Every so often the engine will rev high very quickly all by itself. It is certainly doing better. I am hoping that it will continue to improve as fuel gets moved through the lines. Is this what I am to expect as the new fuel (and cleaner) works out the old?
