i think I need to clean (or replace) additional, certain fuel system parts. I am talking about the '79 99 gl that sat for 20 years. It would die one second after acting like it was gonna run perfect. I took the fuel distributor out, cleaned it with carb cleaner, and reinstalled it. I noticed that the fuel in the distributor was very gritty. After cleaning it out, it now runs a little better, but I have more work to do. What is the next logical part to take out and clean out? Is there one? Just like before, it still runs rough for about a minute, then right as it starts to run really good, it WANTS to die. Before I cleaned the distributor, it DID die immediately. Now it just starts to die and I can sometimes save it. The tank has been cleaned, the fuel filter replaced, and now the F.D. cleaned. Ideas? Thanks!
