(even if Yurpeens generally call them "elk.")
Why else would the original Smart have become notorious for failing to pass the "moose test"?
And why else would a fellow in Germany have created a run of decals (a set of which I bought) featuring a rampant-moose-in-shield device parodying Ferrari's prancing horse, the "Cavallino"? (So this must be a Moosallino...?)
Anyway, excuse me if I was overly casual in my application of the term "moose snot." I was under the impression that this was the generic term for ANY type of disgusting goopy sealer used on vintage SAAB body work.
Now that I've checked my Sonett service manual, I can see that the black body sealer is specifically listed as Part # 786266, "Elknøzhakkenüppen [Moose Snot]".
The thinner waxy stuff used as a 95/96 body seam sealer is Part # 786282, which comes from whales, and believe me, you DON'T want to know what part of a whale it comes from!
