Yes, there is an adjustment for the clutch, and if it is not fully disengaging, you can have exactly the same symptoms--happened to me this year. Reverse was a bear to engage.
A manual will help, but it basically says to adjust the clutch free-play adjustment screw at the upper right side of the bell housing so that there is about 0.16" of movement. Then tighten down on the outer nut to lock it down.
