Compression test procedures Posted by SaabDude [Email] (#370) [Profile/Gallery] (more from SaabDude) on Fri, 9 Jul 2010 15:21:26 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
Hello All!
When conducting a compression test, should I remove all the spark plugs or just the one from each cylinder as the test is being conducted.
I've searched this BB and have found that the PSI should be around 150 in each cyl with about a 10% range from high to low...
(this is a continuation of my ignition condensor post...) While last week it seemed that the engine was turning over... now it seems like the "whirr, whirr, whirr" is happening vice good compression. I guess this weekend I'll break out my compression gauge and check...
Just wanted to know if the other plugs should be in or out while testing the one.
Thanks,
Mike "SaabDude" Szostkiewicz, USN
(now seeing a few more SAABs on the road in the LOW COUNTRY vice the LONE STAR STATE...)
HooYah!
