obviously if the fuel line is empty your are out of gas or the fuel pump is malfunctioned. What kind of pump oe or electric? really need electric pump esp with modern fuels. put it under the back seat.
But if you pour a small amount of gas in the carburetor, the car should start for a couple seconds -- sometimes it's enough to prime a weak mechanical pump. Good Luck
