Chris - it is very common for 'lesser' models of the same car to be used as donors in restorations. Very picky restorers will disassemble a body shell, save what can be and 'remanufacture' it with donor or newly fabricated sections. The rust thru at the bottom of the firewall to floor intersection is a very important structural area and complicated to repair correctly. If I was shopping for a restored MC 850 I would prefer this 'repair' of rust to the option of trying to replace rusted areas.
