Weber 34ICH sizing Posted by serge [Email] (#1363) [Profile/Gallery] (more from serge) on Mon, 7 Dec 2015 10:38:46 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
I took off my Weber carb to clean it and increase the main jet size. I assumed that I had a 27mm version, but now come to find that mine is a 29mm. I've heard that the 29 is too big and, therefore, difficult to adjust. I would say that mine hasn't been easy to get just right.
As maybe a good time to put the proper size back into the car, I checked around at various online vendors and no one (so far) has any size but the 29mm. I had to explain the difference to one very skeptical (big) vendor, who, when I said it was for a Saab V4, muttered "Oh, Jesus..." not-so-under his breath.
My question is: does anyone know of a site to get a proper 34ICH from? The kit Mark Ashcraft sells would be correct but it's very $$ and more than I need. I'm going to clean up and install the maintenance kit I have for the 29, but if I can get the correct one now, I'll swap it out.
Or, second question: is it not worth worrying about the distinction?
Thanks!
