After a year of wrenching way too much on my daily drivers and way too seldom on my projects, I am finally back to my basket case 96. I took the triple carbs off for a much needed cleaning and new gaskets because they were leaking. I removed a stunning amount of dirt and sand from the cold start device and the bowls were full of goo. Now they're back together but I still need to set the float level. The only manual I have is from 1964 so it's for the solex 34w not the 34w2. In that procedure you connect a hose to the inlet and hold it 5' in the air then fill it with fuel. Then you pull the top of the carb and measure the float level with calipers. The fuel level should be 0.98 +/- 0.04 from the dividing plane. Is this also the same for the 34w2?
It also mentions that the float should not be bent but the washer under the needle valve should be filed. Is this true for the 34w2 as well?
