1989 5speed to fit 1979 99 Posted by Andrew [Email] (#1013) [Profile/Gallery] (more from Andrew) on Sat, 02 Sep 2000 20:53:30 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
I’m about to have an ’89 5 speed 900 box reconditioned to slot into my 99 Turbo. I vaguely remember someone telling me that there was a front adapter plate available from Saab that Would take the 900 box whilst retaining the original position of the front engine mount. Does anyone know of such an animal, or do I need to modify a 99 front plate to take the 900 box?
I also have to decide on the ratios to use. I think I have a choice of the Turbo ratios or the standard ratios, by changing the front gears that run the morse chain. I don’t have a 900 factory manual with the ratio options. Does anyone have any recommendations as to the best configuration for a 99T, and/or the specification for the box ratios.
