Hi Stuart
I have investigated this in the past and the problem here in the UK is finding an inlet manifold to take twin Webers. I have a lead that I will be following up shortly. Someone I know had a homemade 4 branch ex. manifold hooked up to a Jetex exhaust which worked very well. Unfortunately Jetex no longer make a system for the non turbo 99 and have no plans to reintroduce one. A couple of us in the Saab Enthusiasts Club are looking at having a stainless version of the Jetex remanufactured from a rusty original system that someone had lying around in their garage - early days yet though. I am currently in the throes of fitting rejetted twin Strombergs to my 99 (1975 B engine). I'm told that these carbs in conjunction with lowered jets and free flow filters make a reasonable difference. I also have a custom ground 'fast road' cam to fit over Christmas - email me if you would like details of the grind. Do you plan to rally your 99? If not, you may find twin Webers a little excessive for everyday use unless you live in an area with little traffic clogging up the roads!
