Swapping Front springs on a 72 99 with 99T

A couple of weeks ago I tried to swap the front springs in my 1972 99 with the srpings from a 99T. The process involved muuch swearing, yelling and a badly cut thumb. Unfortunately it turned out that the original springs are smaller in overall diameter that the 99T springs. Also the top spring mounts were different (and of course the bottom mount was a different design, but I knew this already)
I was hoping to do the swap to stiffen the front end up, and to slightly lower it as well.
Has anyone performed this swap before, or know what modifications I will have to take to complete the swap?
Thanks
Justin
