What, an LSD! I'm going to give you my left arm, my leg, a couple of fingers and two saabs for a LSD!!!
Is the LSD on the 99 you picked up?
Yeah, it is unfortunate (in some ways) that the 99 is so cheap, nobody seems to respect the car these days...but then it is good for us, except when it comes to sourcing new parts.
As for cheap Saabs, I have been speaking to my pannel beater and my mechanic with regards to reparing my 72 99. The pannel beater reckons that he might be able to do a cut n shut job, grafting a new front end on from a donor car. And for the princley sum of a carton of amber fluid I have a sourced a complete, straight donor car (only problem is a blown head gasket) All I need is a job to pay for the operation on the 99.
Do you have any experience with cut n shut operations??
If I go ahead with the job I will have the indicators modified to fit the older style (the donor car is a 1977 combi coupe) and the firewall modified to accept the 16v at a later date.
As for the cost of this operations...will only be labour and will be almost cheaper than fixing the suspect body repairs on my $600 77 EMS.
So if you ever need any 99 parts...I will soon have two complete cars to use for parts.
So whats the LSD worth??
Justin
