For those of you who no longer have your Saab or don’t want to hear about BASC happenings, please feel free to reply email me back to unsubscribe and I will take you email off of the mailing list.
For the rest of us, the sun has been shining for more than two days in a row and many of us may be having thoughts of uncovering our continually aging classics, or soon to be, and going for a ride. There was a wonderful Saab get together in the fall with about 50 Saabs in attendance, sponsored by Saab Replay in Berkeley and Anthony Guerra. I spoke to Anthony about his energy and ability to reach out to the Saab mailing list with additional meeting notices and information. When we initiated the (second generation of the) Bay Area Saab Club back in 1995, we promised a level of security with the mailing list. I am reaching out to the current mailing list to ask if anyone has an issue with my giving Anthony a copy of the list for the purpose of keeping communications going. I will wait 2 weeks for anyone NOT wanting me to forward the email I have for you to him, and then forward the list. Anthony has promised to not disseminate the list for commercial purposes in keeping with the spirit of BASC.
I have just reactivated the web site http://www.BayAreaSaabClub.org just recently and hope to keep it relevant. Anthony and his crew have some better web knowledge than my boomer gen styles so look for improvements as we move forward. On a personal note, I recently took out my 68 Sonett V4 for a drive over the hill and I am ready to do more distance. I was stopped (a couple of times by thumbs up) and by a gent who needs a windshield for his classic stationwagon and I remembered one of the reasons our club exists: I have a windshield for him…
Hoping to see some of you this summer.
Roger Wapner
